Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your 11-day adventure begins with your arrival in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit. You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel where you can relax and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
2

Day 2-3: Explore Arusha National Park

The first stop on your birding safari is Arusha National Park, a haven for bird enthusiasts. With over 400 bird species recorded in the park, including the rare Hartlaub's turaco and the beautiful flamingos at Momella Lakes, you will have ample opportunities for bird watching. Keep an eye out for the iconic giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife that roam the park.

Day 4-6: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Next, you will venture to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and diverse birdlife. The park's signature baobab trees provide a stunning backdrop for bird watching, with species such as the yellow-collared lovebird and the red-and-yellow barbet making appearances. Game drives through the park offer the chance to spot lions, leopards, and other iconic African wildlife.

Day 7-9: Explore Serengeti National Park

No visit to Tanzania is complete without experiencing the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Here, you will witness the spectacle of the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals traverse the plains in search of greener pastures. The Serengeti is also a birding paradise, with over 500 bird species recorded within its borders. From raptors like the martial eagle to colorful bee-eaters and rollers, the park offers endless opportunities for bird enthusiasts.

Day 10-11: Transfer to Mount Kilimanjaro

The final leg of your journey takes you to the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you will embark on a trekking adventure. While not typically known as a birding destination, Kilimanjaro's diverse ecosystems support a variety of bird species, including the elusive scarlet-tufted malachite sunbird and the mountain white-eye.
