Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Your birding safari begins with your arrival in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. After settling into your accommodation, you can start your birding adventure right in the city at the Nairobi National Park, which is home to over 400 bird species, including ostriches, secretary birds, and various raptors.

Day 2-3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha
From Nairobi, you will head to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. Here, you can explore the lake by boat, spotting a variety of water birds such as African fish eagles, pied kingfishers, and cormorants. The surrounding acacia woodlands and grasslands are also home to numerous species including lovebirds, hornbills, and starlings.

Day 4-5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Next, you will visit Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its flamingo populations and diverse birdlife. The park is a haven for both water birds and savannah species, with over 450 bird species recorded. Keep an eye out for pelicans, storks, and various raptors, as well as colorful bee-eaters and rollers.

Day 6-7: Visit Masai Mara National Reserve

Here, you can search for the rare Grevy's zebra and Somali ostrich while also spotting birds such as vulturine guineafowl, Somali courser, and various species of hornbills.

Your 10-day birding safari in Kenya concludes with your departure from Nairobi. Take this final opportunity to do some urban birding in Nairobi or visit nearby attractions such as the Nairobi Arboretum or the Ngong Hills before catching your flight home.
