Day 1: Nairobi National Park

Your birding adventure begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. Nairobi National Park, located just a short drive from the city center, is a perfect introduction to Kenya’s birdlife. The park is home to over 400 bird species, including ostriches, secretary birds, and various raptors. Keep an eye out for the endangered species such as the African skimmer and the martial eagle.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

On day 2, you will head to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. This scenic location is a haven for waterbirds, including African fish eagles, pied kingfishers, and great white pelicans. Take a boat ride on the lake to get up close to the birds and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Your next destination is Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its vast flocks of flamingos that turn the lake’s shores pink. The park is also home to over 450 bird species, including the rare Rothschild’s giraffe and white rhinoceros. Look out for the colorful bee-eaters, African fish eagles, and various species of herons and storks.

Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

No birding safari in Kenya is complete without a visit to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. While the reserve is famous for its big game, it is also a fantastic birding destination. The grasslands and acacia woodlands are home to numerous bird species, including ostriches, secretary birds, and various species of vultures. Keep an eye out for the lilac-breasted roller and the superb starling, known for their vibrant plumage.

Day 5: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend another day exploring the diverse habitats of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Venture into the riverine forests along the Mara River to spot elusive species such as the African finfoot and the white-backed night heron. The open plains provide excellent opportunities to observe raptors such as the martial eagle and the bateleur.

Day 6: Departure
