7-Day 6 Nights Great Serengeti Migration Tour

per person

This 7-Day the Great Serengeti Migration Safari program is specifically intended to highlight and maximize your chances of seeing the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration. We devised the schedule to encompass both the Lobo area (north of the central Serengeti National Park) and the Wagakuria area (remote northern Serengeti National Park), where most wildebeest migration occurs between August and October. This schedule has been planned to save you time and maximize your game watching time by flying back from the Serengeti National Park to Arusha town. The program also includes a visit to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1 Arrival - Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a senior safari guide will greet you and transport you to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay. Arusha is a city in northern Tanzania and the seat of the Arusha Region, with a population of 416,442 and 323,198 in the adjacent Arusha District. Arusha, which is located below Mount Meru on the eastern side of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, has a temperate climate. The city lies near Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Arusha National Park on Mount Meru. Meal: Dinner, Breakfast Accommodation: Kibo Palace Hotel.

Day 02: Arusha - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, you will leave for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll arrive just in time for lunch at the resort, after which we'll descend nearly 600 metres to the crater to see the wildlife. The Ngorongoro National Park provides a year-round water supply and feed for a diverse range of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and enormous African elephants. Another major lure to this scenic national park is its large predator population, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which can be difficult to locate at times. We will also visit Lake Magadi, a huge but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern part, which is one of the crater's most prominent characteristics in its south-western corner. A significant number of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic fowl can often be observed here. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Karatu Acacia Farm Lodge.

Day 03: Ngorongoro - Serengeti (Central Seronera)

After breakfast, we'll go to the heart of untamed Africa, the Serengeti National Park, with its boundless grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see. We'll head to the Lobo area, which is slightly north of Seronera (central Serengeti National Park). The wildebeest migration passes through the Lobo area twice a year: once in July/August on its way to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve, and again in late October/November on its way to the southern Serengeti. We'll arrive in time for lunch and then go on an afternoon game drive across the Serengeti National Park. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Serengeti Acacia Camp.

Day 4 Serengeti (Seronera Area)

After breakfast, have a full-day game drive through the park. The area surrounding Lobo and the Grumeti River has good resident game all year. Non-migrating animals such as elephants, buffalo, gazelles, zebras, lions, leopards, and cheetahs can be observed here all year. The game viewing is excellent, and you can follow the action for extended periods without seeing any other vehicles - this is one of the Serengeti Plains' neglected nooks. Along the riverbanks, magnificent riverine trees can be seen, as well as bird species like kingfishers and fish eagles. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Serengeti Acacia Camp.
5

Day 05: Serengeti (Central) - Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, we travel to the Serengeti National Park's extreme northern region, Wagakuria. We will do a game drive from the Lobo area to the Wagakuria area. As we travel north, we frequently encounter giraffes, plain game, buffalo herds, and elephants. We arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, and then we will go on an afternoon game drive in the surrounding area. The wildebeest migration often occurs in the Wagakuria area between August and October, depending on rainfall trends. The northern Serengeti National Park has a lengthy stretch of the Mara River, which serves as the migration's most severe obstacle. It's incredible to see furious herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Serengeti Acacia Camp.
6

Day 06 – Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

After breakfast, have a full-day game drive across the Wagakuria area. Resident wildlife counts are extremely high in this section of the park, with lion prides of up to 30 individuals; nevertheless, from August to October, the area transforms into a wildlife haven. The Mara River is the main feature, and it is not uncommon to see herds cross it north one day and then return south a few days later. Please keep in mind that finding a crossing can be challenging and sometimes requires luck. A herd may be spotted next to the river, and they don't determine whether or not to cross until a few days later. This is a wonderful region. With kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and broad plains, akin to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Serengeti Acacia Camp.

Day 07: Northern Serengeti (Kogatende) – Arusha

After breakfast at the camp, we travel to Kogatende Airstrip and take a wildlife drive along the way. The group should tip the guide between $20 and $30 every day. Around mid-morning, board a scheduled aircraft from Kogatende to Arusha airport. When you arrive at Arusha Airport, meet our driver who will transport you to Arusha Town. We'll eat lunch when we arrive and then wrap up our African safari excursion. Our safari services will conclude with your transfer to your accommodation.
