Full Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe international airport and transfer to Kasese
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our experienced guide who will transfer you to your accommodation for the night. You can take this time to rest and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Camp
The adventure begins with a trek from Nyakalengija, the starting point of the hike, to Nyabitaba Camp. The trail winds through the dense rainforest, offering glimpses of colorful bird species and primates. As you ascend, the landscape changes, and you will be surrounded by towering trees and moss-covered rocks. The day's hike ends at Nyabitaba Camp, where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Nyabitaba to John Matte Camp
The journey continues as you ascend higher into the mountains, passing through the heather zone and crossing several rivers and streams. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. You will reach John Matte Camp in the late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains.

Day 4: John Matte to Bujuku Camp
Today's hike takes you through the magical Bujuku Valley, a landscape of cascading waterfalls, giant lobelias, and towering cliffs. As you make your way to Bujuku Camp, you will be surrounded by spectacular scenery, including views of Mount Stanley, the third highest peak in Africa.

Day 5: Bujuku to Elena Hut
The highlight of the trek is the ascent to Elena Hut, located near the snow-capped peaks of Mount Stanley. This challenging but rewarding climb offers panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains and the surrounding glaciers. At Elena Hut, you will have the opportunity to rest and prepare for the final push to Margherita Peak, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 6: Margherita Peak and Descend to Nyakalengija
The day begins early as you set out to conquer Margherita Peak. The final stretch of the climb involves navigating steep and icy terrain, but the sense of achievement upon reaching the summit is unparalleled. From the top, you will be treated to awe-inspiring views of the Rwenzori Mountains and beyond. After descending from Margherita Peak, you will make your way back to Nyakalengija, where the adventure concludes.
